In keeping with Dr. John and Julie Gottman’s well-researched and published principles on couples, we believe healthy partnerships thrive when they are built upon a shared vision, purpose, and core values. These qualities represent the highest level of the Gottman Sound Relationship House model.
To support this process, we use the Gottman Relationship Check-Up, which allows couples to see how their perspectives compare and to assess the overall “condition” of their Relationship House. The assessment highlights strengths and challenges, guiding therapy toward the areas that most need repair.
We also recognize that the quality of the relationship depends heavily on the mental health and wellbeing of each partner. That’s why our approach combines individual sessions (focused on personal growth and emotional health) with joint sessions (where partners practice healthy communication patterns and build shared meaning together).
This balanced approach ensures that both individuals grow stronger personally, while the couple as a whole reinforces the foundation of their Relationship House.
